Ancient Olympics Activity 3

When the Olympics were held in Greece 2792 years ago women weren't a loud to participate or even watch the Olympics. I think this was a cruel rule back then, because women should've been able to do what men could do back then and just as well as the men could. And it's also not fair for the women just to stay home alone and only the men to contribute in the Olympics.

  1. Malo e lelei Seini,

I couldn't agree with you more. I really think that the 'No Girls Allowed' rule is unfair and that both men and women should have the same opportunities to participate in the Olympic games. I am very relieved that the modern day Olympic committee agrees with us and has changed the rules to allow both genders to compete as equals. I think that it is fair, thought, that they create separate competitions within the Olympics so that men compete against men and women against women. What do you think? Should they separate the genders or should everyone just compete together?

I'd love to know what you think...

    Cheers, Rachel

    1. Hi Mrs Williamson,

I really agree with you because in some sports like wrestling they female athletes should compete against the other female but not with the male athletes.

  2. Hi Seini,

I really appreciate the effort that you went to to write your response to this activity. It is quite a difficult question and you considered it carefully. I completely agree with you that women deserve respect and should be treated with care and love, although I do think that competing with men in events like wrestling may not have been a very safe idea.

    Keep it up!
    Iisa
